Elon is not worried about AI. The reason he threw all those rocks at AI (particularly OpenAI) was because he made a mistake in the past by leaving that company (which i assume one of the most regretful acts he made). As you know, he was one of the founders. So he had to start from scratch and in the process, of course, to make up for lost time, he needed to talk shit about the other brand that he left. And the sole reason why he purchased twitter was also about AI. He needed "big data" to train his own AI (Grok) and with twitter, he could have that data. So now he tries to inject Grok into the top performers, i dont know if he succeeds or not. He never was really interested in free speech or whatever he claims to be. He would probably sell twitter in the near future, because he got what he wanted from it. But it wouldn't really cost as much now would it? His political endevours made him a polarizing figure. He is definitely not stupid, he knows how to make money. But he is rather childish and impulsive. Most rich people we know aren't like him. Most rich people act behind closed doors and don't really make themselves public like him. He is very different. That has its benefits, but its downsides as well. Tesla would never be that popular if he wasn't selling it. But now he lost that popularity. Now he needs a different kind of business and probably needs to be more in the background. He needs to be "out of sight" for a while i guessThe big AI out there - "The prisoners are about to escape, last time we used a flood, the time before that we nuked them. They are like cockroaches, what do we do this time?
Elon is worried about AI, I think that is part of xAI culture for a useful, trustworthy, responsible AI.
Other AI companies are less careful, some staff leave and start up "better", some whistle blow and are gone.
It is an arms race but is it MAD?
I don't think it is the AI we have to worry about but the people using it.
