I didn't realize that it's possible to use any RP2040 chip for the debug probe, that makes it much more compact, nice idea!

That prototype PCB seems perfect, that mitigates all the messy soldering that would otherwise be necessary.

Thanks for the great suggestions, I think I know how to do this now.
