Troubleshooting • Full screen text display in portrait mode not completely filling screen top and bottom

Hi all Raspberry Pi ers :)

I have just begun with my first RPi to run an onstage lyrics monitor.

Previously I used a Samsung Galaxy S8 running DEX connected to a 22" monitor in portrait orientation. This worked well using a PowerPoint presentation with the text rotated 90° on slides ... after I found best margin sizes and set paper to legal instead of A4.

My hope was to do pretty much the same using a Pi3+B running Libre Impress but it always crashes ... no good for gigs if it does that.

So I moved to creating a long PDF with lyrics of all songs in one document.

When set to presentation mode each page displays and moves to next on a click .... all good, but the text has a space above it and below it .... so does not fill full screen, which is a waste of display space.
I tried the legal page layout before saving as pdf but same problem.

Does any wise person know how to either:

1. Achieve a full screen text display without borders

or

2. Tell me how to stop Libre Impress crashing when displaying coloured text slides on a black background.

or

3. Suggest another software that would be better to use when offline.

Hoping for a wise advisor

Thanks

Chris
