Troubleshooting • Installing Purr data

Hello,

I am extremely rusty on the basics of raspberry pi. Several years ago I created a pure-data application on a raspberry pi 4B and it subsequently crashed and I am trying to recreate from scratch. I have today updated the OS to the latest Raspberry Pi OS. I have then downloaded the Purr data files from https://software.opensuse.org//download ... =purr-data selecting the options the 'grab bonary packages directly' and the raspbian 12 OS. This downloads a file purr-data_2.20.1+git5351+3ca3b637-1_armhf.deb to the download folder.

I am now stuck - what do I do next. I am sure it is something very simple. I think I need to extract the files, but not sure how and where to. I tried right clicking on the file and using the install option, but I get a message 'Failed to install file' A package could not be found that allows the action to compete. More information is available in the detailed report.' - I have no idea where that report would be.

I would be grateful for any help. This forms part of my Art Practice Phd that I have a viva for next week!
