More than 5V is no issue, I have that working, although currently other/old HP 45W USB-C PD PSU.would make i.e use of https://www.adafruit.com/product/5807?s ... l57AS4bpNf in case you'll need more than 5V.
the Data Sheet of said device will also give you some useful Insights into USB-C PD spec.
The 27W when @12V can feed my NAS + router + switches + camera + fiber with it (if idle), includes 3.5inch HDD spin-up. The 27 W fails to react on demand from other ARM SBC that can demand higher voltage. Also I remember now that it also does not do it with a tablet. The original HP 45W flips to 15V when LiPo charging is needed/started. I do not have a protocol analyzer, else maybe I could see why.
