Please make sure that you are powering the CM5IO board with a powered USB hub and not just relying on the USB host to provide enough current.
A Pi4B rpiboot host with a high quality, short, USB A-C cable is often ok but it's better to use something like the Raspberry Pi powered USB for providing data + power to the CM5IO board.
