my guess is the cable.
Some cables don't pass the EDID data back to the PI from the monitor.
result is no video output.

i say this because without boot media, you should get the diagnostic display.
i now only use the official cable.

I got a new cable and now its showing configure raspberry pi without sd card
with sd card it shows configure raspberry pi reads out commands and then the screen goes to black and then turns static, the led on the pi 5 keeps dimming and flicking could this still be a cable issue or a power issue?
