I know PiOS has some bodge 'scaling' fixed size defaults, but it needs to get like windows and android and just select a scale factor, like 125%, 150% and even 200% so we can read it on high resolution screens, yet still have the flexibility and work on pixel density not resolution, then user tweaks from there for preference.

You can use wlr-randr for scaling. e.g.

wlr-randr --output HDMI-A-1 --scale 1.1

Needs to be part of the GUI/UX, and self setting at the start based on pixel density, not can you read the tiny text at the terminal. We're on modern desktops now!
(Need need to talk about it here, it's not really a product but a desktop experience enhancement, thanks though)
