Beginners • Re: Beginner help : connecting LED stripe

Hello there

I bought LED stripes from Pimoroni : https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/flex ... 0032045139

The page says :

The wires are as follows:
Red: 5V
Green: data
White: ground

The thing is : the stripe ends with 5 cables. There are 3 together -- red/green/white --, but also 2 others together : red/black.



So I'm a bit lost at how to connect things (and afraid to randomly connect to the Pi).

Do I just need to connect the 3 to the Raspi's pins (one 5V, one ground, and one GPIO) ?
Or do I need to connect the 3 as stated, plus the 2 others ? (to a 5V power source ?)

I appreciate you want to use this add-on with an RPi board.

But it is a 3rd-party product sold by Pimoroni. Perhaps their own Forum would be a reliable source of advice about how to use your purchase? https://forums.pimoroni.com/
