I'll have a chat with engineering to see what the plans are here. They are VERY busy though, and this is a relatively low priority (compared to the other tasks they have).
Hey, thanks for checking!

I can understand that producing an SDK of some sort for the RP1, without an MMU is a challenge. However I suspect that a lot of applications that look to do something on the core1, would already be possible by just giving a proper way to start code on that core. This would then leave the task of memory layout and not running over peripherals used by the OS up to the programmer. It would of course be firmware version dependent (possibly more), but it should cover use cases where an app is bundled with a certain RP1 firmware, e.g. in an SD card image etc.

Something like a core1 launcher should be fairly simple to do (I hope). It's surely not the perfect solution but it could help a lot of folks getting the best out of the RP1 / Pi 5. I'm pretty sure it would be enough to cover my use case :D

In any case if there's any way I can help make the simple launcher, or even a sort of SDK happen, lemmy know :!:
