HATs and other add-ons • Re: Can I connect multiple PCIe hats to an RPi5?

Hello I had one of these boards for awhile.
My intention when i got around to it was to put 6 drives to make a small NAS.
5 Drives in a Redxa Penta HAT and one nvme in a Pineberry NVME hat. And connect both with HatBRICK! Commander.

Issue was I never got around to getting all the SATA SSH's but it used to work with a couple of SSD and an NVME.
Anyhoo i finally picked up 3 more SSH in the 2025 Amazon summer sale. So off to the races i go.
Put all three new drive in. Booted it up and all seems good. bt its been about a year so I apt upgraded it and....

Now I know if I just connect the Redxa Penta HAT to the Pi 5 that can see all 5 ssds.
I now if I connect the NVME Pineberry Hat that can see the NVME.
Just the HatBRICK! Commander. doing it's think is not seeming them?
I think its working because lspic can see it.

but lspci only the sd card

lsblk

├─mmcblk0p1 179:1 0 512M 0 part /boot/firmware
└─mmcblk0p2 179:2 0 29.2G 0 part /

So does anyone know if it has been broken?

Oh I also re flashed the SD card and update config.boot.
Still no joy :(

Also would be good if oneday you could boot from the NVME in this type of config.

If anyone has a clue that would be great.
Thanks.
Send the output of pastebinit to the YT guy. 'Stacking HATs' is good as clickbait, but you need to be able to fix PCIe issues with such a setup yourself. Else sell it to other YT fans before it is too late.
Developers won't waste time on it as there are simple out-of-the-box methods available with other ARM64 SBCs that have multiple M.2 sockets and do bifurcation. So NVME in 1 slot, ASM1166 in another = 1x NVME + 6x SATA. Can all be booted from (7x devices) with open-source bootloader, 12V power supply. Or even 8x SATA if you would put some dual-SATA in a M.2 E-key slot that is normally meant for WiFi adaptor.
