Guys Please please please... If you have problems with a serial based MIDI board and use ttymidi-rpi, just open an issue on my bug tracker https://github.com/ldrolez/ttymidi-sysex/issues
I've tested this with many PIs (but not the 5), with differents boards like all Slim MIDI from Domoshop, OSA, DIY boards and never had a problem. I play with MIDI sequencer with a PI Zero and I'm more than happy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBeyFgt7oAc
I have no idea why you're trying to change kernel clock parameters, because it's the road to 100% failure.
I have an arduino Nano 2040 laying around or two... because your SLIM MIDI HAT also has SPI connectors on board...
I was thinking... maybe it would be possible to turn the Arduino into an external interface that can generate its own serial BAUD...
And reroute the Midi In and Out of the 2040, so it can establish MIDI over SPI with the Raspberry???
Congratulations. You've invented the MIDI dongle! I think it has potential, especially if you could make it work over a more common interface, such as, I don't know, maybe USB?
