Troubleshooting • Screen cut off when using multi-input switch box

Hello,

Has anyone had this problem before? I'm using a pi 5 and I'm finding that when I try to use the pi 5 with a multi-input switch box (it accepts Y/Pb/Pr/VGA and 3xHDMI inputs to HDMI out) part of the screen seems to get cut off. I've tried changing disable_overscan in config.txt and adding video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080M@60 to cmdline.txt but it still dosen't seem to work.

As the pi boots everything looks ok but then changes resolution and then that is when the display seems to get cut off.

Here is a website with a very similar device to mine.

The switcher box is connected to an older samsung TV - it is just a basic HD (1920x1080) TV nothing special about it all. I also tried using some of the controls on the TV to see if I could make any adjutments but all show the screen to be cut off. The switcher box (apart from a button to choose the input) does not have any controls.

Maybe these "x-in-one" switcher boxes aren't very good? If so does anyone who might make one that is better? (I need both the analog and hdmi inputs the swticher gives as I use other devices on that tv which need the other inputs).

Note: Below the first picture shows the cutoff problem; the second picture early boot (which looks ok); the third picture is the switcher box itself.
