Yes, it is a wireless network.
My project originally targeted a RaspberryPi Zero 2 W but swapped it out for more speed and memory of aModel 4 B. I was using 2 different monitors, a target monitor which was a 7" touchscreen and a 15.4" touchscreen. The 7" was for a mobile application and the 15.4 was to make it easier to read. The application would be using a screen that had large text and would not be a problem to read.
But after working on code one day I decided to take what I had and see how it looked on the small monitor. When the system came up I was still using terminal to start the program. Somehow the monitor had shifted to a 1900X1280 configuration on a 7" monitor. I tried switching resolutions in Preferences->Screen Configuration, choose my monitor, picked a 1024 X576 resolution hit apply and nothing! Tried again and same results. Switched back to the larger monitor and seemed to be locked to a 1024 X 768 configuration. So for 2 days I struggled with trying to get control of the monitors and started playing around with config file. Backed up the original as I tried to work thru the issue. Finally After getting too frustrated I went back to the original config file and monitors worked again.
But now I was seeing ridiculously long ssh, scp and ping times.Over 5 minutes to open up a ssh session, 3 minutes to do a scp operation, 10 to 25 second ping times. I fought with this issue for another 2 days and as I needed to get some sort of demo running, reverted back to the Zero to see if I could get reasonable performance. 5 second ssh sessions, 3 second or less scp's and pings of under 10 ms. So the only thing I can assume is I seriously broke something in the Model 4 OS software.
I had originally come up with this idea roughly 15 years ago and since I retired I ran into a friend from back then who thought I should be a millionaire by now, who I sadly told I had dropped the project. So having the time now I started back up on my design and after 7 months of learning Linux, enough to be doing simple stuff Python and CircuitPython I came up with a prototype which has a few folk interested and the BAM after getting a provisional patent I can't get the software completed and I ru into OS, monitor and BLE issues. I came from the database world so I am a SQL geek and am a stranger in a strange land of code.
I am going to try to finish development using the Zero and sometime just do a clean install of the OS on the Model 4B. this time doing a backup when I get everything back in place. It took me almost a month to get the OSes on the Zero and the Model 4 running and I am deathly afraid to try to get the Model 4 B working from the Zero 2 W
So sorry for the length of this post but I just wanted to clearly establish what I am trying to do, have done and how truly clueless I am with a lot of this.
Thanks,
Joe B
