we are currently working on a system based on the CM5. We are planing to equip the system with a 5GigE-Contoller which is connected to the CM5 via PCIe. As this should be the only ethernet port in the final system we are currently do not plan to connect the native ethernet PHY provided by the CM5.
Would it be somehow possible to use this non-native ethernet port for network boot and provision of empty systems after production? Does the bootloader in the EEPROM to support different ethernet controllers for network boot? If not, would it be possible to add support somehow?
