I've never done that, but its a possibility. I know this OUGHT to be secure, but I would have to read up and convince myself.Option 1: Run a vpn server on your Mac with apropriate port forwarding on your router. VPN clients on the Pi.
I exposed one of my pis to the internet once via port forwarding on my router. I got hacked. Probably not.Option 2: Much less secure - expose you git server directly to the internet via port forwarding on your home router. I'd only do that as a last resort, require authentication, and probably use a non-standard port on my router (which does add much security TBH).
The locations where the remotes now live are OK with having my devices on their networks, but would probably not approve of me messing with their routers.Option 3: stop using RPi Connecct and configure port forwarding on the remote router/gateway for ssh whihc gives scp and sftp as well. If you go this route do not allow password logins.
Yes, I don't want to do anything that could jeopardize any network, mine or those at the remote locations.Be aware of the security implications before applying any of the above.
